So, what is Hangouts Chat?

Hangouts Chat is a new approach to team messaging. Bring your group together to work on a project in a room, and discuss the various tasks to keep your project moving forward through multiple conversation threads.

What makes it special?

• Rooms focused around projects or teams
• Threaded conversations to discuss all the topics needed to make a project successful
• Hangouts platform to use integrations with Google Apps and third party tools
• All rooms and messages are searchable and can be filtered by person or file type

How do I get started?

1. Visit chat.google.com.

2. Click the “+Room or direct message” button on the bottom left-hand side of the screen to create a new chat room with your team or a (private) direct message with a coworker.

3. Add teammates to any of your rooms.

4. Play around! Use Hangouts Chat in your everyday work.

5. Provide feedback by clicking the menu icon in the top right corner of the application and selecting “Send feedback.”
