Demo Slam Contest Details
Video Demo Slam
- A Video Demo Slam is a unique and engaging way to showcase technology.
- Videos should be brief and concise while highlighting a specific Google feature.

Eligibility
- You must be a current NC State student, faculty or staff to participate.
- Individuals and groups are encouraged to enter.
- Maximum of three (3) people are allowed per group.
Submissions
- You can submit more than one video, but only one video per person or group can be a finalist.
- Maximum length of video is 90 seconds.
- Google functionality featured must be available at NC State and used for university purposes.
- Primary contact and group members must be current NC State students, faculty or staff.
Entry Deadline
- Submit your video by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18.
- Finalists will be notified via email the week of Nov. 21.
Recording a Video Demo Slam
- You can use any recording device available to you.
- Mobile video recordings, screencasts, and online recording software are all acceptable.

How to Enter
Step 1: Upload Video
Upload YouTube video to your NC State G Suite (formerly known as Google Apps) YouTube account and share the link with us through the entry form.
- Make sure the video is set to public.
- Provide descriptive title and description that includes featured Google tool or technology.
- Videos will be available for public viewing at the 5 Years of Google at NC State website during the contest period.
Step 2: Complete Entry Form
Complete the entry form by 11:59pm on Nov. 18th
Entries must include the following:

- Primary contact name
- Unity ID
- Email address
- Phone number
- Affiliation
- YouTube video url
- Featured Google technology
- Group member names and email addresses (if applicable)
- Entry confirms you and/or all group members agree to the Official Rules of this contest.
Prizes
- First 5 entries receive $20 dining cards (1 per person and/or group)
- 1st place – $150 in gift cards
- 2nd place – $100 in gift cards
- 3rd place – $50 in gift cards and a Chromecast
- Note: Prizes are subject to state and federal income tax
Judging
- The top five (5) finalists will be determined by a committee based on the following criteria:
- Effective message
- Quality of video
- Use of technology
- Creativity
- The top five videos will be shown during the “5 Years of Google” opening session on Wednesday, Nov. 30.
- Attendees will vote for their favorites during the event.
- First, second and third place winners will be announced during the keynote session (3 p.m. to 4 p.m.). If winners are not able to attend the event, the primary contact will be notified via email and will be responsible for retrieving prizes at a later date.
